From Paris Pools to Everyday Performance: What Olympic Swimmers Taught Us About ISOBAR Recovery Wear

14 July 2025

This summer, as the world watched records fall and history made at the Paris 2024 Olympics, ISOBAR had a unique backstage pass not just to the podiums, but to the recovery rooms. Fourteen elite swimmers from the Olympic Swimming team put ISOBAR garments to the test under the highest pressure and performance demands imaginable.

Compression That Travelled to Paris and Beyond

Every one of the athletes surveyed used ISOBAR gear during the Games. Most wore both the socks and sleeves a combination we had recommended and their feedback revealed just how vital recovery technology has become in elite sport. The garments became a part of their daily routine, helping them manage swelling, accelerate recovery between races, and stay mentally and physically ready for their next performance.

“Definitely feel like they provide a good level of compression and helped post-race recovery”

“Less swelling during travel and keeping legs fresher between rounds, especially when there can be a lot of walking at big meets”

“Like the feeling of them on and when you take them off and feel they give good compression”

“Mentally it’s nice knowing you’ve got something on that may help recovery”

What We Learned: Power, Performance, and Potential

The athletes were honest and that’s exactly what we wanted. Some reported wear and tear, including minor rips and a feeling of diminished compression after extensive use. While not unexpected under Olympic-level conditions, this feedback points us to areas for product evolution.
